Idle Guitar Legend
You have a cheap guitar, an unamplified amp, and far too much time. Get to work.
Idle Guitar Legend is a deterministic incremental RPG about the long road from bedroom player to world-touring icon. Drill until chord shapes stop needing thought. Build a setlist. Busk for your first upgrades. Record the songs you have earned, assemble a crew, and turn a lifetime of practice into money that keeps arriving while you are away.
The whole career is wired like a guitarist’s signal chain. Your bedroom feeds the music store, rehearsal room, studio, stage, and crew through a pedalboard of chunky stompbox controls. Headroom tells you when to rest. Drive tells you when to push. Every number has a reason, and every new room shows you what it needs next.
There are no random failures. If your playing improves, it is because your chops, setup, and decisions improved. Come back after a break and the same simulation catches up your active work offline.
Build your legend
- Practice with a purpose. Train 24 attributes and master 15 interconnected guitar techniques.
- Build a real setlist. Learn 11 authored songs, then write deterministic originals from the techniques you know best.
- Chase the next piece of gear. Buy and compare 35 guitars, amps, strings, pedals, studio tools, and small comforts.
- Keep the old favourites. Five gear collections reward a growing rack instead of making every older item disposable.
- Turn songs into income. Record albums and build a royalty catalogue that keeps paying while you sleep.
- Grow beyond one pair of hands. Hire six crew roles for automation, passive output, and career-wide bonuses.
- Play bigger rooms. Climb through 10 venues, from open-mic chips to a world tour.
- Complete the story. Cross seven career chapters, earn 20 permanent achievements, retire at the top, and carry legacy multipliers into the next run.
- Made for short sessions and long arcs. Autosave, responsive mobile controls, and deterministic offline progress are built in.
Your first five minutes
- In the Bedroom, engage Chord Practice. Activities repeat automatically.
- Watch Headroom and Drive in the amp panel. Rest before fatigue pushes your gains into the red.
- Use Busk on the High Street when you need cash for strings, picks, and your first serious upgrades.
- Reach 30% Power Chords mastery to open Four Chord Anthem and the Rehearsal Room, Home Studio, and Stage loops.
- Follow the pedalboard signal chain: practise, learn, perform, upgrade, record, hire, and step up.
Plug in. Start practising. Become the legend.

Clicked on chord practice. The light became green and on.Two buttons on top, STOP and RESTART. Apparently it takes 20 secs. No timer is moving. Nothing is happening. Either no one tested this or I cannot figure out this game. Either way, closing the game.
That’s weird when pressing “engage” on the main screen you should be able to see the bar filling up. I’ll try to reproduce it
Have the same thing, after a few sec, it freeze. restarting it or trying another one stay freezed at 20sec
that happened to me too last night as well as today though for me it stops around 7 seconds.
Can you see the timer and it’s just stuck at a time or not at all and you’re waiting but not progressing ?
This is an incredible game you've put together 😊 As a guitarist myself, I feel very seen 💜 sfx would take it to the next level, but that feels like it would take as much work as what you've already done lol. Well done 🤘
Thank you for your feedback! Everything comes from personal experience as a guitarist 😂 I’ll add sfx and audio in the next update!
There is no sound in game?
I haven’t added any sfx, couldn’t figure out the direction I wanted to take. Do you find the experience lacking because of that ? Thanks for the feedback!
Even if the game weren't conceptually about music and guitar playing, I'd at least like to hear the sounds of pressing buttons. And considering it's a music game, it's incredibly strange that there are no sounds at all.
Hmm you’re right.I didn’t have the chance to record anything since I’m without an audio card rn 🥲. It will be part of the next update for sure!
